While we sit on top of the mountain its easy to see what is around you. This is important to understand because it applies to a simple theory that it you see it coming you can prevent it. That was great in the 1800’s but its a different ball game now. For the first time in 3 decades America is about to embark on developing a smaller more strategic nuclear weapon that can be applied in a tight geographical region. Unfortunately this means we may come close to actually using it, However it is infinitely better to use it then let these bastard nations hold America hostage. These smaller nukes (or baby nukes) are basically a trump card to the game of black mail.
When we see North Korea threaten to sell nuclear weapons and technology to unfriendly rouge nations unless we pay up I have to say out loud, “ This shit has got to stop!”
Having these smaller weapons would ensure that we have a useful and practical retaliatory weapon to apply to these nations that would acquire this Technology and use it. I say if we are going to be black mailed for billions by the world then we should be able to say no and have the moxy and means to back that decision up.
This is a necessary evil.
